Greeting fellow travelers! I hope that things have gotten back to normal for all of you after our two week excursion into Italy. Even though I only drove for one day in Italy, my wife often reminds me that I'm no longer in Italy and the neighbors simply won't understand why I'm driving this way. Oh well, I suppose that each of us in our own way had some little habit that we picked up there.
I'm pleased to be sending you this CD of pictures from our trip. The majority of images are from our recent trip, however, I did included some of Capri and Pompeii from 2003. Unfortunately, two students and I didn't quite make those destinations this year. I also included some of our unexpected stay in Cincinnati. While there we visited Fountain Square, Symphony Hall (the young lady in the picture is my sister-in-law), and a Cincanniti Reds-Washington Nationals baseball game.
If you're interested, I thought I'd give you a quick look at future trips that we've got planned. This fall I'm looking at putting together a 4 or 5 day bus tour to Washington, Philadelphia and New York City to visit some of the wonderful gardens around those three cities. And as you're heard by now, we are planning a post-Christmast trip to New Zealand. We'll depart a few days after Christmas and spend about two weeks looking at gardens and natural beauty which seems to abound around every corner in New Zealand.
Next spring I've been promising for a long time to go to Japan to visit the gardens there. I'm really excited about this possibility and we've begun preparing for that journey already. Finally, in late spring or summer we're discussing a trip back to Italy or a midsummer adventure to England and Wales.
So there you have it. But let's look at the topic at hand--our trip to Italy this past spring. If you just click on the link below, it will take you directly to the opening page. There you can look through all the pics at one time or click on a title page and view the ones associated with that place. Also, you have the option of seeing most of the images set to music playing in a Quicktime .mov file format. This video of the images lasts about 25 minutes.
I hope you have a wonderful remaining summer and a great fall. I'd love to hear from you.
Robert
